The 2nd MMA-SFI National Championship concluded successfully in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from 17 to 19 April 2026, bringing together nearly 200 athletes from across the country. Organized by the Mixed Martial Arts Sports Federation of India (MMA SFI), the championship served as the official selection event for the 2nd Asian Youth MMA
Championship and the 4th Asian MMA Championship.

The competition was conducted under the rules and regulations of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association (AMMA) with all bouts officiated by certified referees and judges. The event was also overseen by the Deputy General of AMMA Ms. Zenn Huang, who travelled from Singapore to supervise the championship and ensure international technical standards were upheld.

With athlete safety as a key priority, comprehensive medical protocols were implemented throughout the event, including pre competition medical screenings, dedicated cageside medical personnel and a fully equipped cardiac ambulance on standby. The championship concluded without any major injuries or disciplinary incidents.

The successful completion of the championship marks another important milestone for amateur MMA in India with the country’s top athletes now set to represent the nation at upcoming continental championships.
